Tonights Game 2 of the Western Conference championship between Try-City Americans and the Vancouver Giants was... intense, to say the least.
Vancouver scored within the first minute to lead the Ams 1-0. You could see, however, that each team was in the mood to play hard. Ams soon tied it up, and eventually took the lead.
The third period was where all the action took place. Ams were getting penalized for everything, while Vancouver walked free. Seriously, it felt like we were playing against the Giants and the Refs. The giants were almost on a constant powerplay throughout the third period. Eventually, the Giants were able to whittle the 5-2 lead down to a 5-4 lead.
Going into the last few minutes of the game, the physicality of the game increased higher than ever, with scuffles breaking out everywhere. Vancouver pulled the goalie to get an extra skater out there for offense. That strategy failed though, as Drew Owsley was able to hold back the onslaught and prevent Vancouver from scoring, leaving the Ams to win the game at 5-4.
